They say : " It is hard to be a women, you must think like a man, act like a lady, look like a young girl, and work like a horse".
We say it is harder to be a veiled women, above all you go through for being a female you are seen as some kind of criminal, all you're accused of is choosing to cover your head.
But wait a minute don't get me wrong not all veiled women are judged the same way . the veil exist in a lot of religions such as Judaism, Catholicism, eastern orthodox and Buddhism . they are called religious women, they are respected and honored for being close to god ... But why aren't we, we Muslim girls who chose religion along with social life . Why do we have to receive that much hatred .. those killing looks in people's eyes while you call those practically undressed girls free and independent.
As for you, the ones who says that HIJAB keeps us from being successful ... Well to begin with being a doctor, a teacher or a civil servant does not require from you to be sexy unless you're searching for some other kind of work .
it has been proved that hijabist can achieve their dreams, be part of something important and exist in different sectors.
In 2011, Tawakol Karman, a Muslim hijabist won the Nobel peace prize in recognition of her work for the rights of women in Yemen. A year later, Wojdan Shaherkani, a teenage Saudi judo fighter entred the history for being the first veiled in the Olympics along with Sarrah Attar who competed in the 800 meters event.
Taking a step in the world of fame, the young actress Hanen Turk wore hijab and kept practicing her job like she used to . Last but not least, Sara Shamsavari an artist which I truly respect , she's a photographer, singer/song-writer and activist.
she is a source of inspiration to all veiled women and all women in general, that you can succeed despite the hardships of life you struggle.
Finally, housewives, succeed in your house is not an easy job to do .. not every resident can be called a HOME and not everyone can be a mother. How can you call her "just a mom" she's a cook, a cleaner, a nurse, a teacher, a friend and even a father sometimes .. So when a women choose to be a full time parent, she can't be accused of being narrow minded or reactionary. Ibn al quayiim described her in a few beautiful words saying: "Women are one half of society, which gives birth to the other half, so it is as if they are the entire society."
Well a message to all the hijabists in the world take risks .. Be creative , go forward with your dreams ..And invade the world. But be careful preserve yourself and don't drift with the flow, like the prophet Muhammed SAWS said: “Islam began as something strange and will revert to being strange as it began, so give glad tidings to the strangers." Abu-Hurayra (r,a)
